Breakfast in the Dunes Thursday the 22nd of December saw Sandy, Russell, Hein, Joe, Wayne and Greg meet at the Atlantis Dunes at 6am. The plan was to drive for about one hour and then have breakfast. After deflating tyres we played follow the leader with Hein and soon we had worked our way past the big dune and then it was off to the horse shoe . Each vehicle had a go, some trying more than others and soon we were on the way to the “braaigat”. Suddenly Joe’s Pajero made a “bang” and the gears would not select… after a few minutes of trying he managed to get “a”gear” and was soon on his way to the exit – so he could get to the golf course. I saw him later in the day and he said that the gears were OK. {Dunno what the bang was.} The rest of us conjured up some bacon, eggs and hash browns and about an hour later we were on the way to work or home .. for those of us on leave. The dunes are always at their best early in the morning before being criss-crossed with tracks. This was a winner and we plan to do this more often during the year.
