New Members We would like to welcome the following new members into the club. Stephen and Sue-Anne Edwards with Kyle and James - their ride is a Disco. Johan De Vries - his ride is a Colt Club Cab Edric and Natashja Terblanche - their ride is a Pajero. Just remember that the club is what you make it. Join in, have fun and ask questions. Club Fees Renewal fees have been revised for 2006 Ordinary members R300 (as before) Retired members R150 (reduced by 50%) Thanks to all those members who paid their renewals so promptly. Babies Well done and congratulations to Chris and Jacky, Arie and Ilse, Roger and Bev, and James and Janet. All have welcomed new offspring during 2005. More arrivals during 2006??? Website Russell is revamping the website and we have a lot more articles and trip reports going onto the website. We have also introduced a preferred supplier list on the side of the page. These are people with whom we have had dealings over the years and who we are confident to recomend. Most of them are club members as well so please support them. Outings During 2006 we want to introduce more long trips to the programme. We have travelled to Lesotho and the Richtersveld during 2005 and some of our members have joined the Gauteng club on other long trips but we want to see a lot more long trips in the holidays. There will be a variety of trails again as well as the popular Midweek madness outing, outing to the theatre as well as some more adventurous outings for the thrill seekers. If you have any preferences please let us know. Other Outings We hope to organise a combined outing with the Cape Land Rover Club and the Four Wheel Drive Club of South Africa. We are the only club that works with most of the other clubs and while still maintaining our unique identity this is a great way to meet other 4x4 enthusiasts. Social The Valentines party is planned with a lucky couple winning a fantastic night at the Montague Vines guest house. (See Babies 2006 hee hee). Details will be emailed out shortly. Urban Edge Church (Youth and community projects) We sponsor an animal at Tygerberg Zoo We have undertaken community projects since 1998 Our Midweek Madness outings are open to all 4x4 enthusiasts at R20 per vehicle - money goes to charity. We are the ONLY club in Cape Town that has good working relationships with the 4WD Club, Cape Land Rover Club and Boland Eco Fours. The Chairman and a committee member of each club has full membership at our club and we have a reciprocal agreement with them. We organised the 4x4 Boot Sale together with the 4WD Club and all the proceeds went to charity.
