Dear Members The April News is a bit late but I have just returned from another awesome trip to the Richtersveld with some amazing people (all club members of course). The Richtersveld just has something that I love and after 87 trips I still cannot wait to get back. The solitude, sunsets, mountains and of course the mandatory last night on the river. This trip turned into a photographic bonanza with over 700 photographs being taken by the group as well as two and a half hours of video (by Morne and Greg) which Morne is editing into a 60 minute trip report. Another very different outing was the formal day at the dunes. This was the brain child of Johann and Russell and when I sent the email I wondered what response we were going to get. Well the response was amazing and the dunes were turned into a setting where all the guests wore suits and the formal dresses. The folks at the gate were not too sure what was happening. Once in the dunes the guests were treated to Champagne and snacks whereafter they could change into more suitable attire and participate in some dune driving. A big thank you to Johann and Russell for the planning and organising. We are always brain storming and planning new events...so if you have some ideas please email me and lets see what we can do with you "dream outing".
