Midweek Madness - 12th July 2007 Once again we had a spendid evening for the outing, the sky was clear and there was absolutely no wind. We met half an hour earlier than usual and slowly made our way to Paarl getting to the farm in the dark. I phoned the farm manager to get him to open the gate and soon we were all through the gate and on our way to the braai spot on the top of the hill. The protea bushes had grown and the branches pushed back mirrors as we followed a muddy track... everything looks different at night and after a few more turns we cleared the bushes and entered a clearing looking out over Paarl. The fires were soon lit and the chatter started. While the flames danced into the sky the braai smoke permeated the air and soon everyone was busy eating. Soon the clock had reached 11pm and we started to pack up and wend our way home. Another awesome night and great company. Thanks to all who attended.
