Hello 2008. Thanks to all of you for the wishes, emails, telephone calls and sms's that we received over the Christmas and New Year period. We were away from cel signal for two weeks and my message system was full when I got back so if I did not respond it means I never received your message, but thanks anyway! I am finally off crutches and managed to walk between 5 and 10km a day when I was away so at last I am able to drive and get around again and so Midweek Madness and all my outings are on the cards again. The farm we use outside Durbanville has been sold and so we will try and fit in a drive or two there before the farm is handed over to the new owner in March. We will have to find another venue, preferably a farm which we can visit without it costing us an "arm and a leg". If any of you have access to a local farm please let me know. We are busy working on the programme for 2008, which should be out shortly but in the mean time I have sent the following outing announcements: Midweek Madness January 2008 Club Picnic January 2008 Valentines Dinner February 2008 The plans for our 10th anniversary are going well and I am flying to Gauteng in February to meet with Alan at the Gauteng branch so that we can get everything finalised and turn this into a really memorable event. We are busy organising activities to keep everybody busy and which should appeal to the diverse interests of the 4x4 Offroad Adventure Club members. The Richtersveld trip over Easter is all go, and if everybody who indicated that they want to join us on this outing attends then we will have three groups in different places in the Richtersveld. All members who booked will receive the payment details during January and the deadline to pay will be the end of January 2008. Each group will have it's own plans and these will be forwarded in the next few days. Watch your emails for details of more outings, the programme for 2008 and lots of other exciting things. If you have any ideas about anything, want to get involved, want something new, want to visit a place that is not on the programme or ANYTHING else then please email me and I will see what we can do.
