Dear Members The year has started of well with the first Midweek Madness on Chris's farm (thanks Chris and Brenda), then we had the club picnic at Helderberg Nature Reserve, this weekend is Russell's trip to Leopard Trail, next week is the Valentine's party, Richtersveld is full and in the final motions of organising, the Boating Interest Group has had a meeting and got there programme planned, the Photographic Interest Group has met and has a new club coordinator, the committee has had there Strategy Weekend camp, the Programme for 2008 is complete and we have clinched a deal for some amazing prizes at the club meetings. I am flying to Gauteng to meet with Alan Goodway from our Gauteng branch in two weeks time to strategise for 2008 and plan some events and also to attend their first meeting of the year. A number of the Boland Eco Fours members have joined us, and a very warm welcome to them. Ons sien uit na 'n fantastiese jaar en ek is seker julle gaan ons program geniet. The Programme 2008 is provisional and is just the start, there will be many more exciting events and these tend to happen as the seasons change and as new opportunities arise. The Committee for 2008 have all given their input and I am sure this year will be even better than last year. Please attend as many events as possible as this is the only way to become part of 4x4 Offroad Adventure Club and together with all the Interest Groups this can easily become your life or at least your social life. Due to work commitments and a some other issues Don has decided to take a backseat. Everyone has learnt so much from Don and thus the loss of his leadership and guidance will leave a major gap in the group. Thanks Don for your effort in starting the group and maintaining such a high standard. Malan van Zyl will take over as the Photography Interest Group coordinator.   To join the Committee To become part of the team who run and plan outings we have a number of requirements: You must have been an active member for at least twelve months. You need to be VERY experienced and responsible. You must be able to handle an emergency situation. You must maintain and uphold our standards in terms of behaviour and ethics (yourself and the group). You must be enthusiastic.
