Dear Members Thanks to all of those who renewed their memberships so promptly. We send two reminders in the month that your membership expires and if after the reminders (2 x 2 weeks) the renewal has not been received you are removed from the members list. We have renewed our membership of the AAWDC and have paid just over R1000 to renew our membership. The AAWDC operates out of Gauteng and we have sent at least five requests for our new stickers and certificate but with no response. As soon as the stickers arrive we will let you know. The two Easter Richtersveld Trips have taken place and Frans leaves on Tuesday for the Kalahari. The Richtersveld trips went well and everybody enjoyed their time in the wilderness, I find that the quietness and peace are awesome and sitting under the stars at night one feels that Easter time is probably a significant time to visit the area. Read the trip report further down. There are lots of events on the cards and so watch your emails. Please attend as many events as possible as this is the only way to become part of 4x4 Offroad Adventure Club and together with all the Interest Groups this can easily become your life or at least your social life. The trip were private due to accomodation restraints but as the group becomes more active more accomodation will be found. The Boating Group had a fishing outing in Langebaan on the 29th of March. The water was flat and we had an awesome day with no wind. The fishing started off slowly but after trying various baits and fishing spots we managed to catch some Steenbras, about twenty fish in all and all were returned to the lagoon. Biking Group Jorg organised a Peninsula tour with various stops for photos and refreshments.
