Dear Members
A friend once said "You can't cross the sea merely by standing and looking at
the water" and thus we ask you, the members to join us and take the 4x4 Offroad Adventure
Club to a new level. We are very well respected in the offroad and adventure communities and I would not
hesitate to say that we are achieving more than anyone else in the offroad community and we
are definitely making inroads into the adventure communities. I am regularly contacted by
media for the 4x4 Offroad Adventure Club's opinion on various issues and this holds us in
good stead.
The one comment that definitely sets us apart is the comment about our exemplary behaviour.
The year has started with both turbos screaming and we would like to welcome all the
new members.
All the outings have been very well attended and we are looking forward to a great year
ahead.
Russell and I had a meeting last night and we are planning some changes to the website.
These changes will make Interest Groups info and photos available to all members and not just
members of the specific interest group. We still need your member information for the
website so if you have not sent your particulars to Russell then please do. There are some
more Interest Groups in the pipeline and we will announce the additional Interest Groups shortly.
The 4x4 Offroad Adventure Clubs Facebook page is growing and we need your support. Our
thinking behind the Facebook page is that it is a popular medium onto which all members can
upload their own trip pics immediately after the event. The same pics and report will appear
on the website a few days later but Facebook involves the members more. It is also a medium
where members can ask questions and help one another. So please use it.
Our community project in Lesotho is happening in April and we will be holding a briefing
meeting during the next two weeks. If you are interested in helping on this trip then please
let me know. 4x4 Offroad Adventure Club has donated more money towards this project bringing our
total charity contribution during the last three years to R70 000. Awesome.
Some people believe that today there are no true adventures to be had. All they need to
do is come to our meetings, attend the trips, dream big and dare to fail.
Regards
Greg
