Midweek Madness - April 2010 By Greg The venue was finalised and we made our way to the back of Paarl. In the old days the water from the mountains to the east of Paarl was collected in a number of earth dams. Other plans have been made and so these empty earth dams lie abandoned. We arrived in the dark and started to explore driving along the dam walls, down the sides and just playing around. Trees have grown in the clay and so driving at night requires some concentration as we had no intentions of hitting any of these stumps. The locals were not to be seen. They must have thought this was a police raid :-) After driving around for some time we found a big clearing and after everyone produced lots of wood we had a great evening bonfire and braai. The venue for the May Midweek madness is in Paarl as well and must not be missed.
