Dear Members Yesterday was great. Meeting some of the new members and some existing members at the Beginners Dune Driver Training and afternoon Dune Drive. The weather was great and the emails I received last night all said that "we had a fantastic day". That follows in the footsteps of Thursday nights Midweek Madness with amazing weather and good company, which follows in the footsteps of the 4x4 Offroad Adventure Club's Thursday morning breakfast, which follows the Tuesday return of Russell's Richtersveld trip....... As winter approaches the programme become more fluid, excuse the pun, and dates and venues get changed to fit is with the weather. So during this time please contact the outing organiser to confirm - if it is not raining then JUST BE THERE. So what is there to look forward to? This month's Midweek Madness is on Uwe's Farm in Paarl and not to be missed. Andrew's trip to Zimbabwe is also a must do, the country is beautiful and the people are very friendly, Viv's Transkei trip is full I believe but give him a call anyway. George and Susan have organised a train trip from De Doorns up one of the old passes on a disused piece of railway line - I did the outing years ago and it is something very different and fun for the family. We have the Culture evening at the Theatre on the Bay Mechanics Course. GPS evening run - just like our GPS Breakfast Runs - but done at night. For the three members who contacted me within 60 seconds of the email - there is the film shoot on Friday. Next weekend 8th and 9th May there is a Fly In to Stellenbosch Flying Club - I am a member and this will be a fun weekend for the family. Lots of planes and fun stuff to see and do. I will be there on Saturday so join me if you are interested. The Explorers Group will be knocking on doors and trying to get us access to some farms. In June we are planning a new members event - more detail later.. Member News George Warren has recovered and was discharged from hospital today.
