Club Meeting - Southern Suburbs - February 2011 Our second meeting in the Southern Suburbs was a great success with over 70 people attending. We started the club 14 years ago with meeting in the Southern Suburbs and then migrated to the Northern Suburbs as time became an issue. William Simpson Nissan bought into our vision and have already sold at least one vehicle to someone who attended the first meeting. Our second meeting was more of a lecturing type meeting instead of the usual product display and Dr Bev French spoke about putting together a first aid kit while John Fincham spoke about birding and the bird atlas. Greg demo's the OZ tent and the fact that it takes less than a minute to erect (his record is 39 seconds). Although a bit pricey the OZ tent puts ease back into camping. Jason explained their Be a Blessing programme where they take less priviledged kids out for a fun filled day of 4x4'ing, games and prizes. 4x4 Offroad Adventure Club donated R2000 towards the next event. Bridgestone supplied all the prizes and William Simpson supplied the food and drinks. A great evening was had by all and a special thank you to all the sponsors.
